MSc in Computer Information Security
Duration: 1 year

Information Security is a buzzword in the world job market. IT personnel’s are one of the highest paid employees in big companies. With MSc from LTC students will get an in-depth understanding and a clear awareness of the current technologies such as cryptography, computer security, and fraud detection, and also includes the study of how security can best be managed.
Admission Requirement:
A second class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Progression Opportunities:
The Masters programme is a full-time 1 year course or part time 2 year course. Every year consists of two semesters with an extra semester dedicated on project. Each semester consists of three modules. The Masters includes a project, which every student has to undertake, and spend considerable time and effort on it. The project has to be completed in the third semester. Necessary project lectures are provided.
Flexibility:
Students can enroll in any of the three sessions, allowing them flexibility to finish the course within one year of the commencement irrespective of the session start date.

The four core modules are as follows:
Security management
An introduction to cryptography and security mechanisms
Network security
Computer security
The optional modules may be chosen from the following:(minimum two modules)
Secure electronic commerce and other applications
Standards and evaluation criteria
Advanced cryptography
Database security
Computer crime
Smart cards/tokens security and applications
Teaching Methods:
A variety of teaching methods will be employed including lectures, tutorials, seminars, presentations, case studies, practical work and peer teaching.
Future Study:
Programmes such as MPhil/PhD can be applied for after the completion of MSc with LTC.
Dissertation:
Projects will be assessed on the basis of the written report, and possibly also on the basis of a demonstration or evaluation of some artifact such as a computer program. An oral examination may take place at the discretion of the examiners.
