CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA, AND ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
Entry Requirements:
A Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 is compulsory at all levels.

Certificate: No previous qualifications are needed to enter the certificate but entrants should be competent in English and Mathematics in GCSE level (NQF level 2).

Diploma: To enter the Diploma you must have completed the ABE Certificate (in any programme) or have two GCE A- Levels and four GCSEs at Grade C or above, or possess a BTEC National award or equivalent NQF level 3 qualifications. Students with at least two years work experience can also apply, even without any of the above qualifications.

Advanced Diploma: To enter the Advanced Diploma you must have completed the BA or BM Diploma, or possess a first degree, or a BTEC HND or equivalent NQF level 5 qualifications.

Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management leading to MBA
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management provides a fast track progression to a Master’s degree such as MBA or MSc by seeking exemptions from the taught stage of such programmes. The programme is equivalent to level 7 on the national qualification framework and is QCA accredited.

This programme places emphasis on academic learning as well as employer knowledge and practice. It provides a fast track progression route for those who
  • are currently studying professional qualifications and wish to proceed to a Master’s degree in business/management
  • have a related degree but wish to proceed to a Master’s level business/management qualification
  • are in employment at managerial level and wish to achieve a Master’s level qualification
Subjects:
  1. Strategic Business Management and Planning.
  2. Organisational Resource Management.
  3. Management of Financial Resource and Planning.
  4. Leadership and Change Management
  5. Corporate Management in Action
Assessment:
Each module is assessed by means of the following two parts:
  1. A three-hour written examination comprised of five case studies. Candidates must answer Section A which has one compulsory question requiring a management report, plus a choice of two from four short case study questions in Section B.


  2. A 2000 word assignment – submission of a SWOT analysis carried out on an organisation of the student’s choice.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
All candidates must have one of the following:
  1. Possession of the ABE’s Advanced Diploma in Business Management (note that a student may progress to the Postgraduate Diploma if he/she has one unit of the Advanced Diploma yet to be passed, but cannot be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma until subsequently passing the remaining Advanced Diploma unit)
  2. Possession of an ABE Advanced Diploma in another subject
  3. Possession of an honours degree in a related subject
  4. Possession of a level 6 qualification from another internationally recognised awarding body
  5. Five years senior management experience
A Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 is compulsory.

Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business Management and Planning

Progression
On successful completion of this programme, students may wish to seek exemptions/credits from academic stage of an appropriate MBA or MSC programme offered by a UK university. Other students may wish to seek appropriate employment.

Awarding Body
The Postgraduate Diploma will be awarded by the Association of Business Executives.
